William Bill E. Hallock, age 90 of Ravenna, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Kent Healthcare. Born January 4, 1918, in Atwater, Ohio, a son of the late Earl and Gladys (Kump) Hallock, Bill was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna and the Masonic Charity Lodge #530 in Deerfield. He worked as a carpet layer for many years and also was a carpenter, who built his own house in Palmyra and Ravenna. Bill enjoyed refinishing antiques, caning chairs, and playing bingo. Survivors include his children: Donald Hallock of Stow, Barbara (Ray) Solinger of Niles, Donna (Helmut) Brandner of Kent, Marcia Landon of Ravenna, Marilyn (Jerry) Dent of Ravenna, Connie (Charles) Spitalieri of Stow; brothers: Joe (Flossie) Hallock of Palmyra, David (Jan) Hallock of Palmyra; also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Frances Martha (nee Richards) Hallock, his brother Richard Hallock, grandson Mark Davis, and son-in-law Darold Davis. Cremation has taken place, and friends will be received Monday, May 12, 2008, from 1-2 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Masonic services will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Scott Purdum to follow. Final resting place will be beside his wife at Grandview Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Light Hospice for their kindness and thoughtfulness throughout Bills illness.
