NORTH CANTON, Ohio (AP) " Investigators suspect foul play could have been involved in the disappearance last week of a pregnant woman who left behind her 2-year-old son amid toppled furniture and a pool of bleach on the floor, authorities said Monday.
Jessie Davis, 26, who is nine months pregnant, was at home when her mother, Patricia Porter, last spoke to her by phone on Wednesday, Stark County sheriff's chief deputy Rick Perez said at a news conference. The father of the boy and unborn baby is a police patrolman estranged from his wife.
Davis' cell phone and a bed comforter were missing from her home near North Canton, but there were no signs of a forced entry, Perez said.
Authorities have said they have no suspects and a search of the home and surrounding area over the weekend yielded no leads.
Deputies said Bobby Cutts Jr., the father of Davis' 2-year-old son, Blake, and Davis' unborn baby, is cooperating with the investigation, Perez said. Deputies also have interviewed Cutts' wife.
Blake told investigators, "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in the rug," Perez said. He did not elaborate on what the boy might have meant about the rug.
