Rootstown Township Board of Trustees
Term: Four years
Salary: $11,010
One to be elected

Bonnie Howe
Occupation:
Previous elected office: Township Trustee 1993-present; Portage County Recorder, 2005-present
Question: How can the township be improved during the next four years?
Answer: One way is the park improvements we're working on. We've purchased more park land and are in the process of developing that land. We really hope to meet the needs of all age groups and make it available to the entire community. Hopefully it will include walking trails and gardening centers for seniors.

Roy J. Kelsey
Occupation: Retired pastor
Previous elected office: Rootstown School Board, 1978-1984; Maplewood Joint Vocational Board, 1978-1982; Rootstown Board of Zoning Appeals, 1989-2006
Question: How can the township be improved during the next four years?
Answer: The township can be improved by attracting and acquiring commercial and industrial business. This can only be done through giving tax abatement. Unfortunately, the majority of the current trustees don't want that to happen.
