The Southeast Board of Education unanimously voted to not renew the contract of the Primary School principal despite support from the public Monday night.
It was a tearful night and after two hours of a closed door session, the board announced their decision to a large group of parents, students and teachers, who all wished Miller well.
"As a board, we take all personnel issues very seriously," board president David Kemble said. "We provided her (Miller) with written notice of our decision."
Superintendent Tom Harrison said a statement would be available today, further detailing the board's decision.
He also said they would be searching for another principal almost immediately.
At the March 19 board meeting, many concerned parents also attended in support of Miller and were disgruntled about the limited public comment period of 20 minutes, which was extended to an hour Monday.
Christine's husband Dan Miller, also spoke to the board Monday and said they both were disappointed with the decision.
