There have been a rash of burlaries in northern Portage County. The Sherrif cannot be everywhere; home owners need to take personal reponsibility. We need to make sure that our homes always look occupied. Look doors and windows. Leave lights on timers. Place timers to come on at different times. If you don't have a big dog, invest in an alarm system and enable it even if you are only leaving for a brief period of time. Keep Valuables out of view. Engrave personal information on anything that could be sold. Exercise diligence and do not be lulled into complacency that it will not happen to you.

I am glad the Castle Doctrine passed in Ohio. Now you can't be sued by a criminal or his family when you shoot them for breaking into your home. The duty to retreat in your home and car is gone also. This passed the house vote 73-23 our rep Kathleen Chandler voted against it, lets remember that on election day.

unfortunetaly your right, but why do we as tax payers have to invest in all this expensive equipment and reaarange our lives to fit the criminal???? SO UNFAIR.... I agree with guns for safety.... i dont like guns, but I will do what it takes to protect my family... so criminals BEWARE, WE THE PEOPLE ARE WAITING FOR YOU!!!!!!!!

The uprising of theft and burglaries is a good reason to keep a gun for protection. I will protect my home and family. Criminals Beware!!!

It is a sad time in are history of a nation that we can not trust are fellow Americans. I never liked having weapons in my home but now it does seem to be necessary. Some people believe that they have a right to what others have worked for. I feel sorry for the young people for they will not know the care free days like I had. Living in a era that you did not need to lock everything up is over.
