Born April 2, 1913 in Bloomdale, Ohio, he was the son of Adlophus and Grace (Shimmin) Goodyear. He was a former resident of Fostoria, Ohio, near Findlay.
Mr. Goodyear worked with N&W Railroad until he retired in 1974.
He was a member of Fostoria Wesley Methodist Church, Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo 32nd Degree Mason, Zenobia Shrine Temple and Fostoria Shrine Club, and a 52-year member of Fostoria Masonic Bodies.
He was Past Master of Fostoria Chapter 288 F&AM and Council 90 of Royal and Select Masons, Past High Priest of Garfield Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Past Commander of Fostoria Commandery of Knights Templar, Past Patron of Fostoria Chapter 94 OES and Past President of Fostoria Mausoleum Society. He received honorary Highest Degree from DeMalay.
Survivors include his wife, Donita Corbin Dietelbach, whom he had married June 9, 1988, in Fostoria; stepsons, Fredrick, Robert, David, Raymond, Timothy and Tony Dietelbach, all of Findlay, Michael Dietelbach of Lutz, Fla., and Richard Dietelbach of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 17 step-grandchildren; and nine great-step-grandchildren. His first wife, Mildred Hartley Sahs; stepson, John Dietelbach; stepdaughter, Donavee Vosburgh; sister, Mary Goodyear; and brothers, Adolph and Thomas, died previously.
